Police Officers in America are constantly facing challenges. To be successful in the commission of their oath, officers must know that fellow officers are individuals of integrity, honor, and courage.
Regrettably, we have observed instances where officers have chosen to depart from their departments during ongoing internal investigations. These departures are often facilitated through agreements, resulting in the closure of the investigations without any disciplinary actions or legal consequences.
I personally think this is short-sighted and endangers officers and community members.
Recently, there has been a push to establish a registry of discipline cases involving officers. Some states have implemented a registry to keep bad cops off the streets.
